Irena Knezevic is a Serbian artist currently living in Chicago where she earned her MFA at University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007. Irena’s work occurs in various program-making media, where physical objects and event-based work come together to form a kind of narrative caches. Current areas of research are: secrets, involuntary movement, dream-wreck, liquidity, topical and tropical disasters, downward spirals, bright lights, vibratory inscription, record making, alternative modernist imaginaries and immanence in physical objects. Recent projects have been shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, White Columns New York, and Blum and Poe, Los Angeles. Recent performances include White Columns New York, Harvard University, MCA Chicago and Purdue University. “Gesture Guild” opens mid March 2010 at ThreeWalls Chicago.

In the garage, Knezevic presented SWAN LAKE WITH A HAPPY ENDING: Program work for an American Garage (l282 bars)
